Riaz Hussain Pirzada is a Pakistani politician who currently holds the position of Federal Minister for Housing and Works. He has been serving as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 29 February 2024. He has held previous terms in the National Assembly from August 2018 to August 2023 and from 1993 to May 2018. Additionally, he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from 1985 to 1988.

Mr. Bajwa is a BS-20 officer of the Civil Service of Pakistan with more than 30 years of professional experience in urban planning, infrastructure development, housing, public finance, project management, and public administration. He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company (PIDCL). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in City & Regional Planning from UET Lahore and a Master’s degree in Public Finance from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan. He started his career as a professional Town Planner and later joined the Civil Service of Pakistan through the 27th Common Training Program. During his distinguished career, he has served in several key leadership positions including Managing Director National Construction Limited; Member (Planning & Design), Capital Development Authority (CDA); Executive Director, Naya Pakistan Housing & Development Authority (NAPHDA); Director General/CEO, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA); Director General Policy & Planning Wing, Ministry of Housing & Works; and Chief (Projects/Reforms), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He also served as Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His notable achievements include leading the transformation of PIDCL into a national infrastructure organization, overseeing the implementation of major infrastructure and housing projects, preparing the National Housing Policy 2025, spearheading planning and regulatory reforms in Islamabad, establishing geospatial planning systems in CDA, and launching large-scale housing initiatives for government employees. He has extensive experience in policy formulation, urban development, infrastructure planning, institutional reforms, public-private partnerships, and management of PSDP-funded projects. Throughout his career, Mr. Bajwa has demonstrated strong leadership in delivering complex development projects, strengthening public institutions, and promoting sustainable urban and housing solutions across Pakistan.
